Monterey Hills Federation
Meeting held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 7:00 PM
at 4224 Via Arbolada, Marshall Villas Recreation Room

 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by Robert Hawkes.
Board members present:  Darius Adle, Jeff Goodwin, Robert Hawkes, Mario Nabliba and Jim Henderson.

  • Call to Order: Members and guests introduced themselves.
     
  • Minutes -.Minutes were approved as written.
     
  • POST Patrol Report – Sgt. Terry Terrazas stated that everyone should report all crimes to LAPD.  Dennis Mealey was asked how long a car could legally park on the street and his response was 72 hours. But you still had to notify 3-1-1 to have the car marked by LAPD traffic division.  Terry was asked how to distinguish between a call to LAPD and a call to POST. He stated that during normal patrol hours (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM) you should contact POST even if they cannot do anything about an issue. This way they are kept informed of any activity here.

    Robert Hawkes advocated that the Federation and all HOA’s should write a letter of support for POST for their support of Monterey Hills.
    Another suggestion to POST was to supply a handy note card that could be placed on all HOA’s bulletin boards. At this point Dennis supplied some contact information on a handy sized sticker.
     
  • LAPD – No report.
  • CD-14 Report – No Report
  • CRA/LA – Robert Hawkes stated that the property known as Parcel “S” has been transferred. A letter of support had been submitted by the ASNC that it remains “open space” and not be developed.
  • Treasurer Report – No report.
  • Jazz Festival – Jim Henderson and Judy Knapton submitted the budget for the festival. It was approved and the Federation’s portions of the funds were released to the event.
  • Executive Board Elections – Robert Hawkes opened the floor to candidates for Monterey Hills Federation Executive board. There being no new candidates, the present board was re-elected to their current positions.
  • Public Comment
    • Nicole Hernandez-Maars requested support for the “Monster Bash” slated for October. The proposed budget was approved.
    • Maya Gurrola announced that there would be a community “yard sale” on Saturday, October 8th from 8:00 – 5:00 PM.
  • Adjournment - The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM. The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 7:00 PM.
